Delta Business Communication Skills Series

The Delta Business Communication Skills series is designed to help learners at the pre-intermediate and intermediate level to master the key communication skills required in international business English today.
Each book and accompanying audio CD provides six core units, each containing these sections:
● context to raise awareness of the skills involved in effective communication and to introduce different strategies for developing these skills
● presentation and practice of core language connected to each skill
● consolidation, which allows students to apply what they have learned to their real-life work situation

Business English Language Practice

Business English Language Practice aims to help learners of Business English develop the grammar and vocabulary needed to participate in business effectively.
The book can be used to support the rest of the Delta Business Communication Skills series, building on topics covered there, or can be used independently for grammar and vocabulary practice.
Business English Language Practice is divided into a Practice section and a Reference section for both vocabulary and grammar. Within each, there are 12 vocabulary topics and 12 grammar topics.
It opens with a Needs Analysis, encouraging students to consider what they need to focus on in order to get the most out of the book and their learning.
The book features a Learning Journal, providing the opportunity to reflect on and personalize what is studied in the book, and contains the full Answer Key, enabling students to work alone or with a teacher

Meetings

Everyone has to attend meetings as part of everyday business life – and many of these meetings are conducted in English.
Meetings aims to help learners of Business English develop the skills and language needed to participate in meetings where English is the medium of communication, whether listening to other participants, making points or acting as chair.
The book practices language and skills in the following areas:

  • Explaining and clarifying
  • Agreeing and disagreeing

Negotiating

Negotiating focuses on the skills and language students need to be able to negotiate confidently and effectively in both formal and informal business situations.

  • Concluding the deal
